Description
(2) 2001 U.S. State Quarters & Rhode Island Related Stamps                                SKU# 271542C

This lot is sure to appeal to U.S. History enthusiasts, coin collectors and philatelists! In 1999, the U.S. mint embarked on a decade long program that honored each state on a quarter. Each state's quarter would have its name, year of entry and a distinctive design on the reverse of the quarter along with the year of minting. These quarters are mounted on a cardboard sheet which describes the quarters on the front and on the reverse is a quick history of the state. Also mounted on the reverse are stamps related to Rhode Island.

Features:
- Obverse:  Inscription: "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA / QUARTER DOLLAR / LIBERTY / IN GOD WE TRUST" Mint Mark
- Reverse:  Inscription "RHODE ISLAND / 1790 / THE OCEAN STATE / 2001 / E PLURIBUS UNUM" Rhode Island's unique design is of a sailboat gliding through Rhode Island's Narragansett Bay and an image of the Pell Bridge in the background.
- Quarter from the Philadelphia Mint
- Quarter from the Denver Mint
- Stamp issued on September 5, 1940 depicting the portrait painter Gilbert Charles Stuart.
