Terms & Conditions

A bid by any person shall be conclusive proof that the person has made him or herself acquainted with these conditions of sale and has agreed to be bound by them.

The vast majority of items auctioned by Police Auctions Canada are derived from law enforcement agencies, asset management, and other public municipalities. Typically these items are seized, forfeited, or found, and should be considered "used" unless otherwise noted. We are not privy to specifics of where the items originated and therefore we cannot respond to inquiries of claim.

A description and picture(s) accompany each auction listing. While we endeavor to accurately describe and portray each item, we do not own or use the vast majority of goods we auction, and as a result, cannot supply the type of information a buyer might expect from a manufacturer or owner.

Do not make assumptions regarding any features, functionality, or additional parts/accessories not pictured or described. When we state a descriptive word (i.e. good, fair) about an item, it is only our opinion and, as opinions may vary, we will not be called upon for this opinion. The original manufacturers for some items may consider the item old or out of date and therefore no longer supported. It is important to note that jewelry certificates and assessments reflect the retail replacement value provided for insurance purposes, and should not to be confused with the retail price. The certificates are based on the hypothetical price a retailer may charge to custom-make or duplicate an item. It is necessary for us to obtain the information, to have identified and confirmed the markings and stones, etc. by a certified geologist, solely for the purpose of listing description details.

Though all written descriptions are believed to be correct, Police Auctions Canada makes no warranty or representation of any kind with respect to the property and in no event shall be held responsible for having made or implied any warranty of description, genuineness, authorship, attribution, providence, period, culture, source, origin, condition, etc.
In the event that an item is mistakenly listed, recalled or important information about the product is discovered, Police Auctions Canada reserves the right to remove the item and/or cancel any bids or transactions.

The reproduction, distribution, display, or transmission of the content of this site is strictly prohibited.

In an effort to keep our site free from mischievous bidders (those who bid on items but have no intention of paying for them), we reserve the right to cancel bids and/or restrict the use of our site.

Policies

To better serve our customers and make the purchase process easier, we have outlined our policies below.  Please take the time to review the information before placing any bids.

- We strive to describe each item to the best of our ability.
- The pictures and descriptions are of the actual items.
- All items are sold "AS IS" with no warranties, implied or written.
- "Powered Up" means that the item turned on upon connecting to a specified power source, but all functions are not fully tested.

Auto Bid Extend: If a bid is placed during the last minute of an auction, the auction time will be extended automatically for an additional 1 minute and continue to extend by 1-minute intervals if another bid is placed. This extended time will give bidders a chance to challenge bids placed in the final countdown of an auction. The auctions will close and a winner declared when the bidding activity stops.

Items must be paid and picked up within 7 days. Items PAID and not picked up in 7 days will be considered abandoned and disposed of without prior notice to recoup storage expenses.

A bidder's first transaction will have a maximum limit imposed and restrictions on further bidding activity will apply until payment is made. First-time bidders, bidding on multiple items in excess of $500 will require you to email your ID to confirm the activity.

Non-paying bidders will be banned from access. Calls to our warehouse regarding locked accounts will not be resolved. We reserve the right to remove bidders and bids that do not comply with these Terms and Conditions.

We do not offer "Second Chance" offers, nor do we contact any bidder other than the winning bidder. If you receive any messages of this nature please forward them to our Customer Service. Protect yourself.

We do not charge the buyer any premium on the winning bid amount.

Due to the size, weight, hazardous or fragile nature of some of the items we sell, we must list items from time to time that will be marked in the description as 'Pickup Only' - 'Shipping Not Available.' These items are the responsibility to the winning bidder to collect in Toronto and we will not arrange shipping.

Removing Bids: A confirmed bid cannot be retracted nor canceled so please do NOT email us to do so or your bidding activity will be interrupted.  By placing a bid, you agree to pay for the item if you are the winning bidder. In the case of an obvious typographical error, prior to the last 48 hours remaining in the auction, a request can be made to correct the bid by sending an e-mail to [email protected].  After an item is won, it cannot be canceled due to an error. Please note that changing your mind, or failing to read the information we provide, is not considered a typographical error!
