This lot is sure to appeal to U.S. History enthusiasts, coin collectors and philatelists! In 1999, the U.S. mint embarked on a decade long program that honored each state on a quarter. Each state's quarter would have its name, year of entry and a distinctive design on the reverse of the quarter along with the year of minting. These quarters are mounted on a cardboard sheet which describes the quarters on the front and on the reverse is a quick history of the state. Also mounted on the reverse are stamps related to North Carolina.

- Reverse: Inscription "NORTH CAROLINA / 1789 / FIRST FLIGHT / 2001 / E PLURIBUS UNUM" Image of unique state design: The reverse features the first flight of the Wright Flyer which took place at Kill Devil Hills
- Quarter from the Philadelphia Mint
- Quarter from the Denver Mint
- Bicentennial stamp of North Carolina achieving statehood issued August 22, 1989 featuring its state flower, the flowering dogwood.
- Air Mail Stamp issued December 17, 1949 honoring Wilbur and Orville Wright's first successful flight at Kill Devil Hills.
- Stamp issued on July 13, 1984 commemorating 400th anniversary of the start of the Roanoke Voyages of Sir Walter Raleigh.
