Description
1937 Canada $10 Dollar Bill - with cutting error                                SKU# 521512C

Dating back to the reign of King George VI, this Canadian $10 dollar bill is a wonderful piece of Canada's rich monetary history. The 1937 issue of banknotes signaled the first time Canadian banknotes were fully bilingual, meaning there was no longer a need to produce separate English and French language notes. You will notice that the denominations and text on the left half of the note are in English, while the right half of each note is in French. A fascinating bill you won't want to miss out on.

1937 Canadian $10 Dollar Bill:
- Obverse: shows a front facing portrait of King George VI and reads "BANK OF CANADA - WILL PAY TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND - TEN DOLLARS - OTTAWA 2nd JAN. 1937"
- Reverse: shows  an allegory of Commerce with the god Mercury standing before a pedestal with a globe at his feet. In the background, all modern means of transport are represented. "BANK OF CANADA - TEN DOLLARS - CANADIAN BANK NOTE COMPANY LIMITED"
- Serial Prefix: AT
- Printed Signatures: J.E. Coyne (Deputy Governor) / G.F. Towers (Governor)
- Cutting error as top edge of bill is much narrower than the bottom.
- Bill comes in protective plastic sleeve

Please note, this bill has NOT been professionally graded or appraised.

See pictures for details.

Condition: Bill appears to be in circulated condition and shows some signs of some dirt, wear and creasing from previous normal use and age. As mentioned above this bill has a cutting error as the top of the bill is much narrower than the bottom. Again note that this bill has NOT been professionally graded or appraised.
