Description
(2) 1999 U.S. State Quarters & Georgia Related Stamps SKU# 271553C
This lot is sure to appeal to U.S. History enthusiasts, coin collectors and philatelists! In 1999, the U.S. mint embarked on a decade long program that honored each state on a quarter. Each state's quarter would have its name, year of entry and a distinctive design on the reverse of the quarter along with the year of minting. These quarters are mounted on a cardboard sheet which describes the quarters on the front and on the reverse is a quick history of the state. Also mounted on the reverse are stamps related to Georgia.
Features:
- Obverse: Inscription: "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA / QUARTER DOLLAR / LIBERTY / IN GOD WE TRUST
- Reverse: Inscription "GEORGIA / 1788 / 1999 / E PLURIBUS UNUM" and image of a peach (the state symbol), branches of a live oak tree (the state tree), and the state motto "Wisdom, Justice, Moderation" over an outline of the state.
