1937 Canadian $20 Dollar Bill SKU# 199072C
Dating back to the reign of King George VI, this Canadian $20 dollar bill is a wonderful piece of Canada's rich monetary history. The 1937 issue of banknotes signaled the first time Canadian banknotes were fully bilingual, meaning there was no longer a need to produce separate English and French language notes. You will notice that the denominations and text on the left half of the note are in English, while the right half of each note is in French. A fascinating bill you won't want to miss out on.

- Obverse: shows a front facing portrait of King George VI and reads "BANK OF CANADA WILL PAY TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND TWENTY DOLLARS, OTTAWA 2nd JAN. 1937"
- Reverse: shows a fertility allegory with a seated woman by a fruit tree holding a sickle and reads "BANK OF CANADA, TWENTY DOLLARS, CANADIAN BANK NOTE COMPANY LIMITED"
