- Obverse Inscriptions: " U.S. ARMY, SERVICE IN PEACE, IN GOD WE TRUST, 2011, LIBERTY" and featuring a solider surveying, two servicemen building a flood wall, and the Redstone Army rocket used for space exploration.
- Reverse Inscriptions: "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, FIRST IN SERVICE TO THE NATION, E PLURIBUS UNUM, S, HALF DOLLAR" Features a Continental solider armed with a musket. Thirteen stars appear above to represent the original states. 
- Coin show a San Francisco "S" Mint mark 
- Coin comes sealed in protective plastic casing inside a cardboard case
